12 Pages- the next step beyond Calendare!
On Monday, I posted about my new Calendare class that kicks off tonight. Calendare is a calendar format introduction to art journaling. It's especially structured for scrapbookers and stampers who are looking to break away from the recipe layouts into projects that are a little less structured.
Calendar is the first step- an easy way to learn to art journal while till wearing training wheels.
12 Pages takes the training wheels off.
introducing twelve pages, kit based art journal workshops for intermeidate crafters
We're still using kits but the contents of each kit are a little more flexible. And the backgrounds will be a little wilder.
No drawing required. We'll ease our way into creating our own shapes and motifs.
Learn the basics of color theory, color mixing, and dip your toes into the world of mixed media. Make beautiful and inspiring pages that you'll be proud to set out on the coffee table!
Twelve Pages class is a workshop style, meaning we'll get our hands a little dirty. And best of all, everyone will leave with a slightly different, more personalized page that reflects your artistic self.
And here's the cool part- 12 Pages and Calendare work together!
You can use the same journal and the same supplies but the lessons are slightly different.
The classes are bumped up next to each other this month but for all future months there will be a week in-between. You can take both classes and really turbo charge your art journal confidence level!
Yes, both projects use the same base supplies and the same color palette.
Class + Pack = $23 per session

Both CalenDARE and 12 Pages classes work from the same monthly supply list. Students are responsible for bringing their own journal and supplies from the small list of non-kit items. 12 Pages will take the same supplies from each month's Calendare class and make them slightly more sophisticated and mature. A few extra items may be added to the 12 Pages supply list in order to introduce you to new mediums and techniques.
Kits contain original Vanilla Arts Company graphics and lettering. Each kit has enough elements to make that month's two-page layout. Elements may be glued directly to page, or used as image transfers.
Students are encouraged to bring embellishments from home. Embellishments should not be too thick or your journal may not close properly. Excellent decor includes washi tape, stickers, sequins, gems, or other relatively flat items. Additional colored pencils, or Faber Castell Big Brush Markers may also come in handy.
products on your supply list which will be used every month include:
Dylusions Creative Journal- a large format, heavy duty journal which is perfect for media heavy projects.
Izink- fun and beautiful acrylic inks which are easily mixed and manipulated.
Soft Gel medium- an incredibly versatile glue, transfer medium, and sealant.
White gesso- multipurpose base coat for paper which strengthens and prepares the paper for a wide variety of surface treatments.
join me for fun and experimentation as we begin our journaling journey!
