Start at the Beginning
When you want to learn something new, it's good to start a the beginning, right?
But I don't have to tell you how bad some beginner-level coloring class images look! We've all seen the small little kiddie projects that most instructors throw at their beginners.
Simplistic? That's an understatement!
Beginner classes are usually about makework- coloring in boxes, making swatches, blending samples, and boring little texture grids.
And when you finally get good at filling in swatches, you get promoted to coloring little spheres and cubes.
After the spheres and cubes, you work your way to cartoon animals and that worn out, trite and tired old "apple on a table" project.
But that's how we learn to color like an artist, right? You color boxes until you can handle the fruit, correct?
I'm charting a new path for colored pencil beginners.
You're not a kid anymore...
So let's ditch the juvenile, simplistic, and brain dead projects! Let's learn to color on something more mature that you're not ashamed to hang on the wall!

Week one gets you started right
The Periwinkle project is designed to help you find your ideal pencil grip again.
You'd be surprised at how many people hold their pens and pencils oddly. Most of us have been writing lists and signing our names for decades. It's been a long time since anyone pointed out good pencil posture.
But a good grip in the correct spot can instantly improve your coloring and immediately offer you better pencil control.
As you color the week one Periwinkle image, you'll immediately see when you fall back into bad habits and poor posture.
Instructor feedback offers you solutions and points out what you're doing correctly so that you can repeat it again and again. This is basic level learning without dooming you to hours of pointless box exercises.
The goal is to correct what time has damaged and restore a smooth and even approach to your paper. Your brain stays engaged because you are creating something beautiful while you practice.
If you're going to color smoothly, you need a satiny and consistent stroke. That's what the Periwinkle project enforces.
Colored Pencil Plus is ideal for:
beginners who are frustrated with their lack of growth using tutorials and "how to color a ______" videos
self taught colorers who feel as if they've missed the big secret to amazing coloring
unconfident colorers who still encounter problems with blending, shading, or developing convincing depth
frustrated colorers who struggle when coloring unfamiliar stamps
habitual colorers, stuck in a rut where every project looks the same
dreaming colorers who want to push beyond craft level coloring into creative and artistic self-expression
Learn when you're ready, on your own schedule.
We've got a great group of students already working their way through the lessons but everyone works at their own pace as their life allows.
Lessons are slowly paced to help you perfect every technique
