Flag Folds & Waves in Copic and Prismacolor

Registration opens August 1st!

This is the debut of my Art of Coloring classes, September 24th from 6 to 8:30 pm at Remember When Scrapbooking in Macomb Twp, Michigan.

This is not an online workshop, it's a live class. Please arrive early if you need to purchase supplies.

Lesson: Drapery, folds and waves in fabric. Prismacolor technique.

Drapery- Fabric is one of the  most common items you will encounter when coloring digital or rubber stamps. Learn how to interpret and predict where the hills and valleys of fabric lie and how to best treat areas to develop realistic depth. We're coloring an American Flag but this lesson is immediately applicable to almost every stamp ever produced.

Prismacolor- Most crafters learn the solvent or Gamsol technique for colored pencils but what they don't realize is that artists rarely use solvents to blend. Learn Amy's colored pencil method based on 20+ years of illustration experience. She does not use solvents and yet produces amazing blends. It's all about technique.

Stamp: Digital stamp image "Grand Old Flag" by Vanilla Arts Company

Medium: Prismacolor Premier colored pencil with some Copic marker

Prerequisite: Copic Club + instructor permission or Mary Maxim classes + instructor permission. Contact me at to discuss your skill level. I want to make sure that you get the full benefit of class- jumping into the deep end of the pool without the necessary skill set is a waste of your time and money.

I can't wait to kick off these fun yet challenging classes!
