Nesting Basket - Artistic Coloring Kit
As a technical illustrator, I’m comfortable drawing isolated objects and I love the challenge of getting the details exactingly correct.
But every once in a while, I have to remind myself that there’s more to art than detail and frankly, I’m not so great at telling stories with my illustrations.
Nesting Basket is an attempt to add more story to my illustrations. My husband is a birder and he’s attracted the most wonderful flock of Chickadees to our backyard bird haven. They swoop and chatter with so much happiness and I know they’d thrilled be to have such colorful nesting material.
I’m also imagining a Fair Isle patterned nest soon after they discover this basket. Maybe that should be my next bird drawing?
